On Wednesday evening, an 83-year-old woman and her two grandsons, aged 39 and 40, were found dead in their apartment in Târgu Jiu. After killing his grandmother and older brother, the man allegedly cut his throat, say sources in the investigation.
The crime was discovered after representatives of the tenants' association alerted the authorities, and investigators are now trying to determine exactly what led to the tragedy in the Olari neighborhood.
AS in Gorj writes that the neighbors say that Alexandru Marinescu had an extremely strange behavior for a long time and that he was known in the area as a user of prohibited substances.
Moreover, his name would also appear in a file instrumented by DIICOT.
Impact in Gorj states that Alexandru was also known for his talent as a painter and tattoo artist. He graduated from the Faculty of Arts and Design at the Western University in Timișoara, and in recent years he allegedly suffered from depression, after the divorce from his wife.
The cited publication adds that his brother, Vlad Marinescu, aged 40, was well-known in the city and worked at a store in the municipality. He often tried to calm conflicts in the family, neighbors say.
The three lived together for several years, and according to the sources of the investigation, traces were found in the house that support the hypothesis that violence took place.
The police continue their investigations to clarify all the circumstances in which the tragedy occurred.
