Previously, it was possible to seize property from foreign agents who violated their obligations, or employees of undesirable organizations. The new law significantly expands the use of such measures.

The list added calls for violation of the territorial integrity of Russia, demands to impose sanctions against the country, discrediting the Armed Forces, denial of the decisive role of the Soviet people in the victory over Nazi Germany, propaganda of Nazi symbols, as well as the production and distribution of extremist materials.

The measure is necessary to punish those who evade execution of a court decision by hiding in other countries. Volodin emphasized that those who commit actions against Russia, its sovereignty and security will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.
