Tobacco smoke contains more than 400 toxic substances. This was reported by the Ministry of Health of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
Cigarette smoke contains substances that are used in industry and poisons. Among them are acrolein, ammonia, acetone, benzopyrene, cadmium, arsenic, hydrocyanic acid, tobacco tar, carbon monoxide, formaldehyde and other dangerous compounds. Some of them irritate the lungs, damage the airways, affect blood vessels and the nervous system, and also increase the risk of developing cancer.
Experts note that many people continue to smoke even with chronic diseases. According to survey data during clinical examination, some patients only slightly reduce the number of cigarettes, but do not give up the bad habit completely.
More than 25 diseases are associated with smoking. Among them are chronic bronchitis, emphysema, cancer of the oral cavity, pharynx, larynx, esophagus, bronchi and lungs, as well as heart attacks, strokes, infertility and other health disorders. The Ministry of Health emphasizes that passive smoking is also dangerous to health. A person next to a smoker also inhales harmful substances from tobacco smoke.
Doctors advise not to delay quitting smoking and remind you that this is one of the most effective ways to reduce the risk of serious diseases.
