Rospotrebnadzor has developed a test to detect a new type of Ebola

Rospotrebnadzor has developed a test system for diagnosing Ebola fever, caused by the Bundibugyo virus. The department reported this on its channel in the MAX messenger.

Rospotrebnadzor noted that the test system was created in the shortest possible time. Now its production has already been organized. The development is related to the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. The World Health Organization has declared the situation an emergency and posing a danger to other countries.

According to the latest data, 221 people have died with suspected Ebola in the DRC. The previous Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo ended in October 2025.

Earlier it became known that Russia would send specialists to Uganda due to Ebola fever.
