Over the past seven days in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, 1,099 people sought medical help with complaints of tick bites. Among the victims are 258 children. This was reported by Rospotrebnadzor.
Since the beginning of the epidemic season, the number of residents of the region affected by tick bites has reached 4,729 people. Tick-borne infections were detected in 18 patients: 6 cases of tick-borne viral encephalitis, 11 cases of borreliosis, including 6 among children, and 1 case of Siberian tick-borne typhus were registered.
According to experts, the number of ticks on control routes reaches 45 individuals per flag kilometer, with an epidemically safe level of up to 0.5.
To reduce the risk of infection, acaricidal treatments continue in the region. To date, more than 2,320 hectares of territory have been processed.
Rospotrebnadzor reminds residents of the need to take precautions when relaxing in nature, as well as carefully inspect their pets after walks.
