Oliver Glasner once again cemented his undisputed place in the club's history Crystal Palaceafter leading the Eagles to their first European trophy. Last night, the Londoners won Rayo Vallecano 1-0 in a fierce battle and lifted the Conference League trophy.

It was the team's last game under the 51-year-old Austrian, who leaves south London with three trophies under his belt, although at the time he arrived Crystal Palace had not won a single trophy in their history.

Oliver Glasner: “It's a good chapter to read in the history of Crystal Palace”

“The game was exactly as we expected but I think we were incredible in the 15 minutes after half-time when we scored the goal. At the end we defended so well and it was a fantastic night. This group of players, this club, these fans. They deserved to win the Conference League.

I consider myself part of this group. As a coach, you can do absolutely nothing alone. You need a great staff, great footballers and great people. This is this group. They always stick together and work hard. That's how we started from day one. We told ourselves that anything is possible if we work hard.

My life philosophy is that if you invest in something, you get something back. Today I had my reward” said Oliver Glasner upon parting, according to The Guardian.

I told the players today that the fans thank us for giving them the best day of their lives. I thanked the players, because it's the same for me. Those were wonderful, incredible days in my life. They trusted me and believed in me. Huge thanks to the players and staff who supported me. Our fans were incredible tonight as well.

At this point, I can't even believe it was the last game. I have taken this decision and it is a chapter, a good chapter to read in the history of Crystal Palace. Other chapters will follow.
