Bologna officially announced the separation from coach Vincenzo Italiano (48 years old), by mutual consent.
In an official statement, the “rossoblu” club said that the technician informed the management that he considers his adventure over, after two seasons marked by excellent results. He is the coach who defeated Cristi Chivu in the semi-finals of the Italian Super Cup, but also the one who defeated FCSB in the single group stage of the Europa League, although he was not on the bench due to health problems.
Bologna was left without a coach
With Bologna, Vincenzo Italiano won the Coppa Italia last season in the final against AC Milan and participated in the Europa League this campaign. The team reached the quarter-finals of the competition before being knocked out by eventual trophy winners Aston Villa.
Vincenzo Italiano is the latest Serie A coach to leave his club at the end of the season. For various reasons, Antonio Conte, Massimiliano Allegri and Maurizio Sarri have already done so. The Italiano himself is being touted as an option for Napoli and Milan, although the favorites for those two clubs appear to be other specialists at the moment.
As for Bologna, according to the Italian media, the options for the new coach of the team are Eusebio Di Francesco, the current technician of Lecce, Raffaele Palladino, who is expected to leave soon from Atalanta, as well as Stefano Pioli, who managed Fiorentina last season but was sacked.
Bologna FC 1909 announces that it has reached an agreement with Vincenzo Italiano for the mutual termination of his contract. Italiano has informed the Club that he considers his time at Bologna to be over, after two seasons of excellent results, regardless of future employment prospects.
The Club thanks Vincenzo for the passion and dedication he has shown in these years, which will remain in the Club's history, including the Club's victory in the Coppa Italia on 14 May 2025. Italiano and his staff wish him all the best for the future.
