An expert in the Zen blog “My own cosmetologist” (18+), who has long been interested in cosmetology and often attends thematic webinars, and also tests all methods on herself, revealed one interesting remedy that will help delay old age.
It turns out that rosehip seed oil is a powerful ally in the fight against age-related changes. We are talking specifically about oil obtained from seeds, and not about an infusion of fruits in a base oil, the specialist clarifies. The second option is also useful, but the first one works much more intensively.
Preparing your skin is half the battle
Before starting the course, experts advise thoroughly cleansing the face, including gentle exfoliation of dead cells. Delicate scrubs, peelings or gommage are suitable. In this case, it is better to space out exfoliation and application of active oil for 2-3 days – this way the skin will have time to recover and better accept the care.
Important: The product should be applied 3-5 hours before going outside, as all active oils increase sensitivity to the sun. At the same time, rosehip seed oil helps fight age spots, including age spots – double benefit, but with proper use.
How to apply correctly
Distribute the product over damp skin with light massage movements. “Seal” the top with a simple moisturizer with a minimalist composition. Rosehip oil is classified as “dry” and is absorbed quickly. If you want to enhance the effect, you can apply a second layer.
“If the toad doesn’t allow you to apply another layer of not-so-cheap oil, you can take cheaper oil, preferably with a high content of vitamin E – almond oil, wheat germ oil. Vitamin E stabilizes the rosehip and even enhances its effect,” writes the expert.
Wash it off or leave it on?
Typically, the oil is washed off with cool water after 20–40 minutes, without aggressive rubbing. If the skin reacts well, you can leave the product on for 5–8 hours a couple of times during the course, for example, overnight.
Important: Precautions
The full course consists of 10–12 procedures with an interval of 1–2 days. In its pure form, rosehip seed oil can be applied no more than 10–12 times. After this, it must be diluted at least 10 times. If you ignore this rule, instead of tightened skin, you risk getting the opposite effect – sagging and dull complexion. The intensive program can be repeated after 4–6 weeks.
Before the first use, an allergy test is required – apply a drop to the crook of your elbow and observe the reaction. And don’t forget about sun protection: due to photosensitivity of the skin, UV filters in day care become mandatory.
