Victor Angelescu (42 years old), the president of Rapid, but also a minority shareholder of the club from Giulesti, appeared at the last match of the season, the one against Craiova University, with a pair of sunglasses that covered his bruised right eye.
After the 0-0 draw with the University of Craiova, on Giulești, the holiday has officially arrived for Rapid. Without achieving any goal in the current competitive season, the Giulești have already parted ways with coach Constantin Gâlcă and are in negotiations for the appointment of Daniel Pancu.
Rapid finished the season in the 5th position, with 34 points, 16 points from the first position, occupied by the University of Craiova, the new champion of Romania.

But, in addition to the result of the game, the GSP.RO photojournalist, Cristian Preda, surprised Victor Angelescu, the president of Rapid and a minority shareholder of the club, in the stands. He wore a pair of sunglasses throughout the confrontation, even though it was already dark outside.

Sources from the club revealed to GSP.RO that Angelescu suffered an injury in a tennis game with friends and that he decided to mask the injury.
“He was kicked in the eye in a game of foot tennis. He put his head in and the person wasn't paying attention and kicked him in the face… He's pretty damaged, the eye is completely bruised and he preferred to mask the marks with a pair of glasses”specified people from inside the club.
He broke his hand at the elbow during a “little” with his friends!
It is not the first time that the minority shareholder has suffered an injury after a sports game with friends. It has happened in the past when he broke his hand and had to put it in a cast for an extended period of time.
“I went to football. Well, I used to go before, but now I happened to have an accident, I have torn ligaments in my elbow, they moved a little, but they put them back. It was good, but at least I don't have to operate. I was praying that I have a broken bone, that they can operate on me.” was the message sent by Angelescu at that time.
Angelescu, no salary at Rapid
Angelescu was appointed the president of the club after the departure of Viorel Moldovan, last summer. He revealed to “Ovidiu's Friends” that he does not receive a salary from the club and that he works daily from the office.
“I have an office at the club, but there's nothing written on the door. That's where all the presidents stayed. I stay at the club quite a lot, between six and eight hours a day. So far I haven't received a salary! It's a discussion, but no, I haven't been paid so far”said Angelescu for GSP.RO.
Asked where he earns money, Angelescu answered evasively: “From my separate businesses.” He also said that “I get along very well with Mr. Șucu”, the Mobexpert boss being “the main person who makes the decisions, because that's normal”.
