One of the best-known journalists in Romania joins Recorder. Publication notice

Sebastian Zachmann, former editor-in-chief of Cotidianul.ro and creator of the “Insider Politic” show on Prima TV, is joining the Recorder team, both Recorder and the journalist announced on Tuesday.
“We are happy to announce the co-optation to the Recorder team of one of the best political journalists in Romania,” Recorder said in a post on Facebook.
Sebastian Zachmann will produce “video interviews and elaborate political analysis texts with background information and behind-the-scenes stories.”
“Thus, we continue the development of the Recorder beyond the investigation area, with journalistic content anchored in current affairs, but adapted to the Recorder style: relevant and easy-to-understand journalism, whose main goal is the public interest, not the rush for impressions. This week you will be able to read Sebastian Zachmann's first analysis on the Recorder”, the publication added.
The announcement comes about a month after Zachmann resigned as editor-in-chief of Cotidianul.ro and ended the collaboration with Prima TV.
Who is Sebastian Zachmann?
A graduate of the Faculty of Philosophy, Zachmann entered the press 15 years ago. From 2011, he worked at Adevărul, where he then headed the political section of the publication. In 2020, Zachman resigned from Adevărul, owned by Cristian Burci, and moved to Prima TV, initially as a political correspondent, then as producer of the show Insider Politic.
He took over the management of Cotidianul.ro in September 2025, after the publication changed its owner after 15 years.
The publication was bought by the Clever EAD group, which also owns the platforms PrimaNews.ro and Profit.ro, according to Pagina de Media. Before, Cotidianul was owned by the journalist Cornel Nistorescu.
Sebastian Zachmann resigned from the position of editor-in-chief of the Cotidianul.ro publication and from PrimaTV television in April.
In parallel, he is the creator of the show “Piata Victoriei” from Europa FM.
