Rospotrebnadzor told how to choose a bouquet for the last call

On the eve of the last call, Rospotrebnadzor reminded how to choose the right flowers and keep the bouquet fresh for as long as possible.
When purchasing, experts advise first of all to pay attention to the stem. It shouldn't be dry. In roses, one of the signs of freshness is the presence of a “shirt” – the lower dense petals around bud. It is better to choose flowers with half-opened buds. This bouquet usually lasts longer.
It is also important to check the petals. They should be elastic and return to their original position after a light touch. If the petals look limp, this may indicate that the flowers are no longer fresh. Sometimes sellers try to hide this with decorative decorations.
After purchasing the bouquet, you need to put it in water, having previously prepared the stems. It is better to cut thick stems at an angle, while tough ones can be broken off or split. The lower leaves should be removed so that they do not rot in the water.
To maintain freshness, you can add a special flower product or a small pinch of sugar to the water.
