Magdalena Rigamonti with distinction for activities for Ukraine. “Builds memory”

The list of “50 friends of Ukraine” includes people from various backgrounds: doctors, volunteers, activists, diplomats, media and business representatives.
Since February 2022, Magdalena Rigamonti has been systematically describing the tragic fate of the heroes of the war between Russia and Ukraine. She was awarded for “showing the human perspective of the conflict, giving a voice to those who directly experience the effects of war – both on the front and in the everyday lives of civilians. Her work is part of the mission of reliable journalism that not only informs, but also builds awareness and memory about the war and its consequences,” say the event organizers.
The winners were selected by a jury consisting of: Nobel Peace Prize winner Oleksandr Matwiychuk, former Ukrainian ambassador to Poland Andriy Deszczytsa, singer and social activist Ruslana, as well as Natalia Panchenko, initiator of the list and president of the Stand with Ukraine foundation.
Awards were granted in 5 categories: “Front of life: medicine and rescue services”, “Army of good: volunteers and activists”, “Architects of the alliance: politics and diplomacy”, “Guardians of culture: dialogue and education”, as well as “Leaders of change: media and business”.
