FC Argeș went on vacation after the last Superliga match, with CFR Cluj, but club officials have already started preparations for the new competitive season. The first mission of the management is to convince the Tunisian Adel Bettaieb (29 years old) to sign a new deal with the “eagles”.
FC Argeș is the revelation of the current Super League season. The newly promoted team reached the semifinals of the Romanian Cup and qualified for the play-offs. With Bogdan Andone on the bench and Dani Coman in the position of president, the people from Pitesti were really a tough nut for the vast majority of Superliga teams.
If in terms of departures, the first four names are already known, revealed exclusively by GSP.RO: Takayuki Seto, Kevin Luckassen, Marius Briceag and Jakov Blagaic, now the officials from Pitesti are seriously analyzing the future transfers for the new season, i.e. the players who could wear the purple-white shirt.
“There are discussions and we hope to succeed for Bettaieb to continue”
There is also a special mission that president Dani Coman has already started: negotiations to sign a new contract with 29-year-old striker Adel Bettaieb. He reached the end of his commitment after coming to Pitesti from Cluj University, but the “vultures” officials do not want to lose him.
“There are discussions and we hope to succeed in having Adel continue with us next season as well. He is a player who helped us, a quality player, and his presence in Pitesti would help us a lot. We have started discussions, we are in advanced negotiations and it remains to be seen how things will evolve in the next period”, sources from the club revealed to GSP.RO.

“He would make the best decision if he stayed at FC Argeș”
With 38 appearances in the current Super League season, 11 goals and two assists, the Tunisian has been the main attacking man for Andone's side.
“A disciplined player, with great growth potential, who already knows the Romanian championship very well. He would make the best decision if he stayed at FC Argeș, a well-organized club that he knows very well”say those close to the footballer.
They revealed that “they would like to stay in Romania, but everything depends on the discussions that will follow”. They also specified for GSP.RO that “the option of a transfer abroad exists, but at the moment this decision is under question. A new team automatically means a new environment and other demands. At FC Argeș he already has a status”.
It will certainly be a problem to keep the players, there have already been some offers. We will try to keep all the players and bring in 4-5 who will raise the level. We are aware that we have a difficult season ahead of us and we have to raise our level. Let's get players on our profile and to help us
Bogdan Andone, FC Argeș coach
“If I didn't become a footballer, I would be a car mechanic!”
One of the artisans of the spectacular journey of the band from Trivale is the French striker of Tunisian origin Adel Bettaieb (29 years old).
“When I came to Romania I didn't know anything, honestly. Maybe just, from hearsay, the legend of Count Dracula and about Gheorghe Hagi, who is a legend in football. We didn't get to visit the Bran castle, but maybe when we get a few days off, we'll go, it's not far,” said the striker in an interview with Libertatea.
Asked “What would you have been if you weren't a footballer?”, Adel answered with a smile on his face: “Car mechanic!”. “I love sports supercars. Honestly, we can talk for hours about cars. It's a passion, not a hobby. And I'm a Lamborghini fan,” he added.
What Adel Bettaieb's career looked like
Before reaching Romanian football, at Poli Iași, the striker also played for UR La Louvière, in Belgium. The good developments brought him the transfer to Dudelange, one of the most important formations in Luxembourg.

He won a title with Dudelange and performed in European cups. At the start of the 2022–23 season, Bettaieb was transferred by Turkish Premier League side Ümraniyespor. Another experience followed in Turkey, at Boluspor.
In the summer of 2024, he arrived at Cluj University, and since last July he has been wearing the shirt of FC Argeș.
