Adrian Șut (27), the former midfielder from FCSB, won his third trophy with Al-Ain, the President's Cup, after two weeks ago he won the title in the United Arab Emirates championship.
In the final of the cup, Șut was introduced on the field only in the minutes of extra time, and his team achieved victory with the score of 4-1 in front of Al-Jazira.
With 8 selections throughout his career for the first representative team of Romania, Adrian Șut was omitted by the selector Gică Hagi at the calls for the friendly matches with Georgia and Wales, which will be played in June.
Adrian Șut won his second trophy with Al-Ain
Adrian Șut started as a reserve in the final of the President's Cup. Al-Jazira opened the scoring quickly, in the 11th minute, through Nabil Fekir, the former player of Olympique Lyon.
Al-Ain restored parity just 4 minutes later through Soufiane Rahimi, perfectly served by Kaku. The same scenario, with Rahimi scoring and Kaku the decisive passer, was repeated 5 minutes later and Abdoul Traore made it 3-1 in the 44th minute.
Adrian Șut was introduced on the field in the 90th+2nd minute, instead of Kaku, and two minutes later, Erik Menezes set the final score, 4-1 in favor of Al-Ain.
Adrian Șut, on his way from Al-Ain
Transferred this winter from FCSB for €1.5 million, Adrian Șut made 11 appearances for Al-Ain in the United Arab Emirates Championship, scoring a goal in a 3-2 win over Bani Yas on 22 February.
In total, Șut ticked off 15 matches for Al-Ain, adding one in the League Cup and 3 in the President's Cup to the championship ones.
Although he has only been at Al-Ain for a few months, Adrian Șut did not convince in the United Arab Emirates, and this summer he could change the championship.
There is also the option for Adrian Șut to return to FCSB, after Gigi Becali expired his interest in bringing him back: “SȘut… I heard that there now in the summer… We take him back, what should we do? He didn't really settle in. He directed the game well, but I want a faster, more aggressive one”.
Adrian Șut ticked off 212 official matches at FCSB, during which he scored 16 goals. In the 5 and a half years spent at the club, the midfielder won two Superliga titles and two Romanian Supercups.
