Elias Charalambous (45), the former FCSB coach, was present at the Science of Sports Cyprus Best Development Championship Awards Gala, where he spoke about the level of football in his home country.

The Cypriot technician left FCSB at the end of the regular season, and Gigi Becali brought Mirel Rădoi in his place. However, Charalambous' replacement stayed only 5 stages on the team's bench, following Gaziantep's offer. Then, the FCSB boss insisted on the technician with whom the red-blues won two Superliga titles, but the Cypriot preferred to stay in the country.

The Cypriot technician attended the event dedicated to football in Cyprus and spoke about the direction in which the development of the sport in his country should go.

What we need to improve in Cyprus is the mentality. We, the coaches and the most experienced in football, also need to guide the talent that exists in this change.

We have raised the level of coaching in recent years and the coaching school has also contributed to this. I hope that in the coming years we will see more Cypriots coaching in the first league“, said Elias Charalambous, according to kerkida.net.
