Dinamo issued an open letter and announced that it will appeal to the higher forums of European football, in the absence of official explanations from the Central Court of Referees, the reason for the complaint being Istvan Kovacs' refereeing error from the lost derby with Rapid, score 2-3.
This despite the fact that Andrei Nicolescu, the president of the club, took the head of the CCA, Kyros Vassaras, aside for a short discussion at the General Assembly of the FRF!
Dynamo players accused that the result of the derby with Rapid was flawed after Istvan Kovacs ignored a foul on Alexandru Musi in the phase preceding the equalizing goal to 2 succeeded by Giulești.
The club said it will appeal to UEFA in this case, given that more than 48 hours have passed since the request was sent to the CCA.
Dinamo threatens with UEFA, after being ignored by CCA
“Club Dinamo 1948 wishes to express its point of view regarding the events that took place during the match played on Saturday, 14.03.2026, between Rapid and Dinamo.
Following the controversies generated by the manner of refereeing, by the decisions made by the central referee of the match and the impact they had not only on the conduct of the game, but also on the final result, Dinamo 1948 sent an official address to the Central Commission of Referees, requesting clarifications regarding the phases that decisively influenced the course of the game and, implicitly, its outcome.
Unfortunately, more than 48 hours have passed since this request was submitted and the club has not yet received any official response to the submitted address.
The club requested the availability of the full dialogue between the center referee and the referee in the VAR room in relation to the phase of the 65th minute.
The club's request concerns the full communication of the exchange of replies regarding:
-
analysis of the duel preceding the phase;
-
the existence or non-existence of a foul on our player;
-
evaluation of the conditions that justified intervention or non-intervention, in accordance with the VAR protocol;
-
the justification of the gap validation following this analysis.
These requests are made with a view to ensuring transparency, protecting the integrity of the competition and restoring minimal confidence in the impartiality of the arbitration act.
Also, the club requested that the central referee should no longer be delegated to Dinamo team matches until the incident is fully clarified and until the minimum confidence in the objectivity and impartiality of the referee is restored with regard to our club.
At the same time, the club requested an urgent analysis of the performance of the entire team of referees and the ordering of severe disciplinary measures, proportional to both the seriousness of the errors committed and their effects on the competition.
Such errors, likely to decisively influence the final result of a match, can produce irreversible consequences in the economy of the championship. The points obtained as a result of such decisions can become decisive even in the event of a tie at the end of the season, a situation in which the advantage resulting from this game would produce direct competitive effects.
We appreciate that such a situation requires not only a formal analysis, but also a firm, clear and proportionate reaction from the Central Commission of Referees.
Under these conditions, the Dinamo 1948 Club reserves the right to refer including the higher forums of European football, in the absence of a prompt and thorough reaction to the request submitted to the Central Commission of Referees“, it is stated in the official statement issued by the Dinamo club.
The chat is private, I promised it was private, and it's staying private. A discussion between two people involved in the phenomenon, that's all. Reproaches? No, we are not at that level. No, we tried to understand things. There are two sides to any story. I understood their point of view.
In general, things are normal. Errors like this still happen. Unfortunately, this is a very, very big error that got me out. It's an absolutely obvious error, on a level you wouldn't expect.
You see, we are frustrated with what has happened to us, but there is nothing we can do about it. We must go forward and fight. Somehow, this thing brought us closer. It's better as a group.
