Cristi Dulca returns to the technical bench: he was presented as head coach

Cristi Dulca (53 years old), former Romanian international and selector of the women's national team, returns to the technical bench! The technician was officially presented today as the head coach of the women's team of Cluj University, the team in first place in Series 1 of the 3rd League.

Dulca, who was free of contract after parting with the Romanian national team in March 2024, replaces Stelian Gherman and Marius Feșnic, who led the team in the first part of the season.

The club from Cluj confirmed the appointment of Cristi Dulca in the position of head coach through a statement posted on the official channels.
“Cristian Dulca (53 years old) takes over the position of head coach of the women's team from the couple Stelian Gherman – Marius Feșnic. Our club thanks both of them for the results achieved in this early season.
The students are in first place in Series 1 of the 3rd League after 9 stages and are qualified for the third round of the Romanian Cup.
In women's football, Cristian Dulca has three years of experience, during which he trained the Romanian national team, between 2021 and 2024“, it is stated in the official press release of the University of Cluj.
Dulca, return to the club where he took his first steps in coaching
For Cristi Dulca, this is the second experience on the bench of a women's team, after the mandate of the Romanian national team selector. For men, his coaching career included teams such as U Cluj, Gaz Metan Mediaș, FC Vaslui, Delta Tulcea, Luceafărul Oradea, Şirineasa and the Romanian U21 national team.
The former central defender has a special connection with Cluj: he started his playing career here, wearing the shirt of CFR Cluj and later that of the University, a team he now returns to in a new position.
Throughout his career, Cristi Dulca also played for Gloria Bistrița, Rapid Bucharest, Pohang Steelers (South Korea), Ceahlăul Piatra Neamț, Gaz Metan Mediaș and Honvéd Budapesta, gathering 6 selections in the Romanian national team.
