“This is not a good time for me”

Donald Trump answered journalists' questions on Thursday, May 21, at the White House. His eldest son's chosen one is Palm Beach celebrity Bettina Anderson, whom Donald Trump Jr. has been dating for a little over a year. The US president directly admitted that the circumstances are not conducive to family plans.

You know, this isn't a good time for me. I have something like Iran and other things – explained the US president.

The president openly pointed out the dilemma he faces in the context of the family celebration. In his opinion, every decision will have negative consequences in media coverage.

This is something I can't win on. If I participate, I will die. If I don't participate, I will die from fake news, of course – Trump admitted.

Golf instead of your son's wedding?

Commentators from overseas quickly pointed out the discrepancy in the president's arguments. While the conflict with Iran does consume the administration's attention, Trump has found time for entertainment outside of Washington.

Since the outbreak of the war, he has spent at least five weekends at his Mar-a-Lago golf club. The next three weekends were spent at another resort he owned – Doral, Florida. During this time, the president spent several weekends away from Washington, although he declared he was unable to attend his son's wedding.

Trump Jr.'s second wedding

For 47-year-old Donald Trump Jr., the upcoming ceremony will be the second wedding and third engagement in his life. The businessman has five children from his first marriage to former model Vanessa Trump, née Haydon. Previously, the president's son's fiancée was Kimberly Guilfoyle, who currently serves as the US ambassador to Greece.
