The Ukrainian minister appeals. “This is a turning point in the war”

“We are at a turning point in the war, and the pressure on Moscow is increasing. Ukraine is maintaining the defense line, and Russia's advantage in terms of the number of soldiers is no longer a decisive factor,” emphasized the head of Ukrainian diplomacy, who is participating in informal talks between NATO foreign ministers in southern Sweden.

Sybiha wrote on Platform X that three key elements are needed to achieve peace: diplomacy, pressure and force. He assessed that a new impulse for peacekeeping activities is necessary, along with intensifying Ukrainian attacks on targets deep inside Russia. Ukrainians call them “long-range sanctions”.

“I informed the allies about the growing threats from Belarus and called for appropriate actions, deterrence and steps to prevent Moscow and Minsk from expanding aggression,” he noted.

The head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs turned to NATO

The Ukrainian minister stated that Ukraine is no longer asking its partners only for support. “We are a co-creator of security, a donor and a partner ready to share our experience with allies,” Sybiha said.

“Increasing defense spending is a guarantee of peace and I encourage every NATO member to support Ukraine's defense. This investment will bring the greatest peace dividend in our lifetime,” the minister said.

Friday is the second and last day of the meeting of the heads of diplomacy of NATO countries in Helsingborg, Sweden, devoted to preparations for the July summit of the Alliance in Ankara. The main topics of the talks scheduled for the morning will be increasing defense spending and support for Ukraine. Poland is represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski.
