The Minister of Defense, harsh attack on the director of Romarm: “He was selected because of his beautiful eyes”
Radu Miruţă, the interim Minister of Defense and former Minister of the Economy, launched a harsh attack on the head of Romarm, Răzvan Pîrcălăbescu, about whom he stated that, while he was a director at Romarm, he was employed at the Romanian Agency for Investments and Foreign Trade (ARICE), a situation he qualified as “illegal, impossible”, informs News.ro.
Miruţă recalled that he submitted several documents to the DNA that would certify that Pîrcălăbescu obtained the position of director of Romarm, a state company under the Ministry of Economy, Digitization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, by “not complying with legal procedures”.
Miruţă declared on the Cotidianul Podcasts that he is not at war with a specific person, but with “those who do not respect the law”.
“I have no business with that man and he is not a relevant man who would have ever done anything to attract attention, professionally. I am at war with those who do not respect the law. I was the Minister of the Economy, Romarm is in the coordination of the Ministry of the Economy. State institutions brought to my table a situation that says in black and white that you were put there with disregard of legal procedures. Imagine that in order to register for a selection you have to submit to diploma file, expertise, you have to submit some documents. His lordship's selection was made by saying that he fulfills the conditions, without putting the evidence in the file”, declared Radu Miruţă.
Miruţă also talks about the fact that Răzvan Pîrcălăbescu held, while he was director of Romarm, a position at the Romanian Agency for Investments and Foreign Trade (ARICE), which is not legal.

Miruţă also claims that Răzvan Pîrcălăbescu was selected “with good eyes”, being the cabinet director of Minister Radu Oprea at the time when he was in charge of the Ministry of Economy.
“While he was a director at Romarm, he was employed at ARICE. An illegal, impossible situation. When I asked him, he resigned from ARICE. Romarm should have a perfect profile of seriousness in interacting with others. I, receiving all these documents, did not keep them in a drawer. I sent them to DNA. It is probably the situation of the bald man who puts his hand on his own head. He screams and shouts that he worked in two parts, when he was not allowed, and he was selected on the spot, being the cabinet director of the minister Radu Oprea, who was at the Ministry of Economy. The cabinet director of the minister who coordinated Romarm was put in violation of the law in an entity under the minister's authority,” stated Radu Miruţă.
At the same time, Miruţă answered the head of Romarm, who declared that the minister should be tried for high treason. “He doesn't even know how to separate into syllables what this means”, came Miruţă's reply.
“I'm interested in the progress of Romania's defense industry, and remember that through this SAFE I dismantled some factories inside Romarm, which Romarm was not able to dismantle. The result of the way Romarm did its job is that in the armament factories it rains and the wind blows and there is no production. This is the result, this is what matters”, states Radu Miruţă.
Răzvan Pîrcălăbescu was appointed director of Romarm in August 2025, in the mandate of Radu Miruţă (June-December 2025).
