The priest of the Krasnoyarsk diocese spoke with the military about the basics of spiritual, moral and family values.
On November 28, the staff priest of the Cathedral of the Archangel Michael in the city of Zheleznogorsk, Priest Alexy Meshcheryakov, visited military unit No. 2669 of the Russian Guard in Zheleznogorsk. The visit took place at the invitation of the unit's command. Father Alexy talked with the military personnel, and also sprinkled the barracks and office premises with holy water.
The diocese said that in his address to the military personnel, the priest placed special emphasis on one of the fundamental Christian commandments – “Do not commit adultery.” He explained that fidelity is the cornerstone of a strong family, and its violation leads to deep emotional wounds and destruction of trust between spouses.
At the end of the meeting, the clergyman called on men to build their family life with trepidation and responsibility:
“Show love and respect for your wives, protect your families from discord,” he noted. “True courage and honor of a true defender are manifested not only in the service, but also in loyalty, honesty and responsibility to their loved ones.”
Let us recall that earlier Governor Mikhail Kotyukov discussed with the leaders of religious associations and national-cultural autonomies the preservation of peace in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
