Valeriu Iftime (65 years old), the owner of FC Botoșani, admitted that there is interest in two of the Moldovan players now, at the end of the season, before the semi-final of the Conference League play-off with FCSB.

  • FCSB – FC Botoșani, the semi-final of the conference league bracket, will be played on Sunday, May 24, from 8:30 p.m., at the “Steaua” stadium;

  • The winner will play in the play-off final with Dinamo, on May 29, on the “Arcul de Triumf”;

Before these games, at the end of which FC Botoșani could return to Europe, the team boss admitted that there is interest in Sebastian Mailat (28 years old) and Zoran Mitrov (24 years old). The former already has an offer on the table, while there is interest in the latter.

The financier of the Moldovan group explained that they could leave the team, but, at the same time, he admits that a possible qualification in the European preliminaries would completely change the situation, as the players would be the ones who would like to stay.

Interest for the players from FC Botoșani, before the tie with FCSB

“Mailat has an offer, and if he wants to leave we will let him go. There is also something for Mitrov. We have sold him before, he is like Ongenda, we keep selling him. He is an extraordinary kid and if he has a good offer, we have given him permission to leave.

I care a lot about him. But if we play in a European cup, no one will leave, not because I won't let them, but because they don't want to leave either,” said Valeriu Iftime, quoted by sptfm.ro.

  • In the current competitive season, Mailat collected 39 matches, in which he managed to score 13 goals and provide 5 decisive assists;

  • Zoran Mitrov also has 39 goals, in which he scored 5 goals, to which 6 decisive assists are added;

  • €1.2 million is Sebastian Mailat's market share, while Zoran Mitrov is listed by Transfermarkt at €900,000
