How to independently fix a socket that has fallen out of its socket without a technician and extra costs. Lifehack

A socket that falls out of its socket can be fixed on its own without the help of a technician. How to do this correctly, the author of the Ukrainian blog “Gospodinka” told.

“I’ll tell you how to securely fasten a socket that constantly falls out. Most often, the problem arises due to loose mounting screws. With constant use, they unscrew, and the mechanism begins to wobble. Sometimes the cause is improper installation of the socket or wear of the internal parts of the socket. The problem can also arise due to low-quality materials or too often pulling the plug out of the socket along with the cord,” the blogger noted. “Ignoring such a malfunction is very dangerous.”

She explained that due to loose fastening, the contacts could overheat, and as a result, a fire could occur.

Step-by-step instructions for repairing an outlet

  1. Be sure to turn off the electricity in the apartment. After this, check the absence of voltage with an indicator screwdriver. This is a very important step that should not be skipped for your own safety.
  2. After disconnecting the power, inspect the outlet. Most often, the problem lies precisely in loose mounting screws. Due to constant use, they gradually lose their fixation, and the socket begins to fall out of the wall.
  3. If the problem is only with the screws, use a screwdriver to tighten them all the way. This is the easiest way to quickly solve a problem without extra costs or special skills.
