Gică Hagi's extended list » They are the Superliga players in the selector's view

coach Gică Hagi (61 years old) announced that the batch for his first action in this mandate as a selector will include 33 names. The newspaper presents the list of players from the domestic championship that Hagi has in mind.

In Gică Hagi's first action in this mandate as a selector, Romania will face Georgia (Tbilisi, June 2) and Wales (Bucharest, June 6) in friendly matches.

Gică Hagi's extended list includes 29 players from the Superliga

Two weeks before match 1, Hagi held a press conference in which he announced that “we will take 33 players, 3 per position”. There will be two exceptions to this rule: for the left back position he chose 4 players, which means that for another of the positions only two names will compete.

On the extended list, from where he will cut some names to remain with 33 players, Gică Hagi has 29 footballers from the domestic championship. As he announced, the champion Universitatea Craiova “will have more players in the squad than any other team in Romania”.

In addition to those 7-8 players from Bănie that Gazeta presented to him on Wednesday, Hagi also has footballers from 8 Superliga teams in its sights. And Rapid could be strongly represented in the lot, with 6 players on the extended list of the selector.

Me personally, keep this in mind, I like to use everyone I get. There are no reserves in the national team. There are very good players on very good teams.

They are important people and I don't consider any player a reserve. On the contrary, they are important players. I hope to be inspired in the decisions, but I will use everyone as much as I can, especially since we have 4 games in a row in September.
