Fuel prices – oil prices
Fuel prices at stations in Poland began to increase after the attacks on the USA and Israel on Iran on February 28. This is the result of the rising price of crude oil on world stock exchanges. As a result of the conflict, the Strait of Hormuz, through which a significant part of the world's gas supplies flows, was blocked.
On Wednesday, the price of Brent crude oil futures contracts reaches $110. per barrel and has increased by over 50% since the conflict began.

Fuel prices – CPN program
To counteract the effects of rising fuel prices, the government announced the CPN (Fuel Prices Lower) program, which includes a reduction in the VAT rate and excise duty on gasoline and diesel oil, as well as maximum retail fuel prices announced daily.
However, the situation in the Middle East remains complicated – and for now there is no chance of a breakthrough. On the other hand, the holiday season is approaching, when Polish drivers will get behind the wheel even more often. The government will therefore be under pressure to extend the CPN even further.
