In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, after the intervention of the prosecutor’s office, a teacher from Norilsk was returned part of the money stolen by the scammers.

The woman’s deception began with a phone call: an unknown person introduced himself as an assistant to the judge and asked for the code from the SMS, supposedly to confirm his identity. Next, false employees of Rosfinmonitoring and law enforcement agencies joined the scheme, convincing the victim that her account on State Services had been hacked, and they were already trying to issue loans in her name and steal savings.

“So that the woman would not have time to stop and think, the scammers acted according to the usual laws of psychological pressure: they reported a certain secret operation, forbade her to tell her relatives and bank employees about what was happening, and for several days almost did not let her out of the telephone script, where anxiety replaced common sense, and each new instruction was presented as a way to save money. Under the dictation of the scammers, the victim withdrew her personal savings, took out a loan for 3 million rubles and transferred the money through ATMs to the specified accounts. The total damage amounted to 15 million rubles,” the prosecutor’s office said.

A criminal case was opened regarding fraud. After analyzing the movement of money, it was possible to identify the owners of the accounts into which part of the stolen goods was received. Then a draft statement of claim for the recovery of unjust enrichment was prepared. The court satisfied the demands in full – the teacher was returned 2.5 million rubles. Work continues now to identify other account owners through which the money passed.
