Lack of work experience and retirement. We explain the rules
For women it is a minimum of 20 years and for men 25 years of contributory and non-contributory periods. In practice, this means that without at least one contribution paid, the ZUS account remains empty and the benefit is PLN 0.
At the same time – as “Gazeta Prawna” reminds – this does not mean that a formal retiree is completely without help from the state. People without the right to a pension may apply for a permanent benefit from MOPS or GOPS if they meet the income criterion.
The maximum amount is PLN 1,229 per month, but a single person with no income will receive PLN 1,010. Seniors can also count on targeted benefits for medicines, food and utility bills.
There is also a supplementary parental benefit, known as Mama 4 plus. It is available to mothers who have raised at least four children. In exceptional situations, the father may receive it. The amount of the benefit corresponds to the minimum pension – PLN 1,978.49 gross.
