The officers reserved real estate in the city of Anchorage. Their task is to protect both presidents who will meet at the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. This, as we read, “offers controlled airspace, fortified gates and immediate access to military units.”

Due to the fact that the meeting will take place in the United States, Secret Service can transport weapons and medical equipment without restrictions. However, the geographical location creates a challenge. The problem is that the hotel structure is limited there, similarly to car rental. That is why vehicles are transported by aircraft from other parts of the state.
“We are at the peak of the tourist season, so the hotels are overcrowded, the cars are missing,” said Governor Alaska Mike Dunleavy on Thursday. He emphasized that it was “one of the largest events” in the city.
There are already hundreds of agents in Anchorage. “Agents in suits and headphones stand at intersections, while others, in civilian clothes, blend in with civilian clothes in cafes and parking lots,” the agency informs. Secret Service is still waiting for Russia's formal approval of a full security plan.
According to RMF FM, immediately after the meeting Vladimir Putin flies to Moscow. In turn, around 1.30 Polish time will be a press conference of Donald Trump. This may mean that the meeting of leaders is scheduled for about 4 hours.
