With the start of work, a traffic light and road signs were installed on the ring near the METRO hypermarket. KRUDOR responded to drivers’ questions about the need for adjustment.

As the road workers explained, during the reconstruction the sections of the Krasnoyarsk Bypass and Krasnoyarsk – Solontsy highways adjacent to the ring are working with heavy overload, not only during rush hours. It is impossible to completely remove this load; you can only correct it with a traffic light. Moreover, improvement of conditions in one direction leads to deterioration in another. The capacity of the ring and its approaches during peak hours is significantly lower than the intensity of traffic on all sides.

If you move the traffic light to the ring for cars entering the city, then cars leaving the parking lot at the METRO hypermarket and entering it from Solontsy (including buses and road trains 18-20 meters long) will not be able to safely maneuver. A traffic jam forms on the roundabout of cars waiting for the green signal. At the same time, without a traffic light, cars would constantly drive around the ring with a turn towards Krasnoyarsk, which would further complicate the exit from Solontsy.

KrUDor added that the problem of cars that descend from the Northern Highway to the ring and do not give way to traffic from Kotelnikov Avenue is a matter of compliance with traffic rules and driving culture.
