800 plus from 2027. ZUS will automatically renew the benefit

Huge changes are coming to the Family 800 plus program, which will be a relief for many parents – from submitting applications, from contacts with ZUS and from the stress of keeping track of statutory deadlines. The government is preparing an amendment that is intended to be a response to the needs of parents and the ongoing digitization of administration.
According to “Gazeta Prawna”, from 2027, parents will not have to submit applications every year. ZUS will automatically extend payments based on the data it has.

Automatic renewal of the benefit is intended to reduce the risk of losing money due to missing the deadline or formal errors. The reform is also intended to reduce bureaucracy and simplify contact with ZUS.
As “Gazeta Prawna” explains, from 2027, parents will apply for 800 plus only once – at the birth of a child or when returning from abroad. In the following years, ZUS will extend the benefit payment itself.

Provided that family details do not change. Importantly, parents will be able to update information in the system. Failure to make any changes will, in practice, mean automatic extension of payments.

Currently, you must remember to submit your application every year so as not to lose your benefit. After the changes, one application per child is enough, and ZUS will take care of the continuity of payments. Parents will benefit from fewer formalities, lower risk of losing money and more convenient contact with ZUS.
As “Gazeta Prawna” explains, the government plans to adopt the draft act in the second quarter of 2026. The new regulations are to apply from the 2027/2028 benefit period, i.e. from June 1, 2027. ZUS will adapt its systems to ensure efficient implementation of the changes.
Poles divided on the issue of 800 plus. They set a key condition
The survey, conducted on behalf of “Super Express” by the Pollster Research Institute, showed that Poles are divided on the issue of the 800 plus benefit and its dependence on the parents' professional activity.
Out of 1,005 people interviewed, as many as 44 percent indicated that after losing a job, the benefit should be continued, but only on the condition that the parent registers as an unemployed person at the employment office.

In the mentioned survey, 32 percent respondents believed that all parents should receive PLN 800 plus, regardless of work. In turn, the most stringent position, which assumes withdrawal of benefits in any situation after losing employment, is supported by only 13 percent. subjects. 12 percent Poles did not take a decisive position.
