Residents of Transnistria will receive Russian citizenship more easily. The decree signed by Putin

Speakers from Transnistria will be able to obtain Russian citizenship through a simplified procedure, according to a decree signed by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin.
The document published on the official portal of the Russian government is addressed to foreign citizens or stateless persons over the age of 18 who have permanent residence in Transnistria.
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree allowing residents of the Transnistrian region to obtain Russian citizenship through a simplified procedure.
The decree removes several standard conditions for obtaining Russian citizenship, including the requirement to live in Russia for five years and tests of knowledge of the Russian language, history and legislation of the Russian Federation.
Transnistria is a region that de jure belongs to the Republic of Moldova, but de facto is not under the control of Chisinau.
In April, the secretary of the Russian Security Council, Serghei Șoigu, claimed that the rhetoric of the authorities of the Republic of Moldova regarding Transnistria “resembles more and more the statements of the Ukrainian authorities about Donbas in 2014” and warned that “Russia will take all necessary measures” to protect its citizens from the separatist region.
