On Tuesday in Cyfrowy Polsat there were great staff changes. Zygmunt Solorz, the founder of the company, was dismissed from the supervisory board, of which he was the chairman. He was the head of Cyfrowy Polsat's supervision since 2008 with a five -year break between 2016 and 2021. Daniel Kaczorowski was appointed in his place.
This is not the end of the changes, because the president's position was canceled Mirosław Błaszczykwhich served this function since April 2019. He became the new head of Cyfrowy Polsat Andrzej Abramczukassociated for 25 years with the telecommunications industry (he was the president of Netia, which was taken over by Cyfrowy Polsat a few years ago).
For about a year, the dispute between Zygmunt Solorz and his children, which concerns succession. That is why the market is closely following reports of this matter. On Tuesday, however, there was no great response to the quotations of Cyfrowy Polsat. Around 11.00, less than an hour from the announcement of information on staff changes, the exchange rate dropped by nearly 1.7 percent, to PLN 16.35 per value. This is a slightly larger decrease than the MWIG40 index, which includes Solorz. The portfolio of the medium -sized companies lost about 0.4 percent at that time, and the WIG20 index, which until recently included the group, reduced by 0.6 percent.
Since the beginning of the year, Cyfrowy Polsat's share price has grown by 15.9 percent, at that time the MWIG40 index gained 31 percent. However, the rate of return for the last 12 months is in favor of the company's media and communication and amounts to almost 40 percent. Compared to 26.5 percent in the case of mWIG40.
The Cyfrova Polsat share price is much higher than during the investors' greatest anxiety about succession: in the autumn of 2024 the quotations dropped the lowest to PLN 11.7 per share (at this level on October 14). In turn, at the beginning of May this year, the quotations brushed PLN 19, but they did not break through this barrier, it was the highest ceiling since the beginning of 2023.
