The Kremlin confirms. Vladimir Putin flies to China a week after Donald Trump

According to a Kremlin statement, Putin's two-day visit will coincide with the 25th anniversary of the Sino-Russian friendship treaty of 2001. The leaders of China and Russia are to talk about bilateral relations and “key international and regional issues,” the AP reported.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said earlier this week that Putin would soon travel to China, but did not give the exact date. The leaders of Russia and China met more than 40 times, previously in Beijing in September 2025, Reuters recalled.
In February 2022, a few weeks before Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Putin met with Xi in Beijing, and the two countries announced a declaration of friendship “without borders” and “without forbidden areas of cooperation.” After the outbreak of the war, they tightened cooperation in many areas, including military, and conducted joint military exercises.
