Seven young people, aged between 16 and 22, were remanded in custody after DIICOT investigators busted a network that allegedly used minors to distribute high-risk drugs, including near school facilities.

“Police officers and anti-drug prosecutors have documented the criminal activity of 7 people, aged between 16 and 22, investigated for the crimes of forming an organized criminal group and high-risk and high-risk drug trafficking”the anti-drug specialist Cătălin Țone said on his Facebook page.
According to the investigation, four of the investigated persons constituted, starting from October 2025, an organized crime group, to which three other persons later joined, in order to obtain important material benefits from the sale of prohibited substances.
The investigators claim that two of the alleged initiators of the network, already sent to court on May 7, 2025 for similar acts and under judicial control, would have tried to avoid being caught in the act. In this context, they would have delegated the distribution activity to other members of the group, including three minors aged 16 and 17.
Interaction with customers was mainly done through online applications, where the sale of prohibited substances was negotiated. Later, the actual distribution took place on the street, especially in areas frequented by students, including near educational institutions.
Investigations show that members of the group procured, possessed and traded high-risk drugs in the form of crystalline substances 2-CMC and 3-CMC, known as “crystal”but also risky drugs, namely cannabis. The substances would have been sold on the local market repeatedly, within the same network.

During the investigation, several quantities of drugs were seized, and following 15 home searches, the investigators discovered and seized approximately one kilogram of high-risk substances, precision scales, grinders, objects bearing traces of the substance, as well as other means of evidence.
The seven defendants were remanded in custody, Cătălin Țone also specified.
