Krasnoyarsk is among the top three cities in terms of growing interest in sports sections

Krasnoyarsk has become one of the leaders among million-plus cities in terms of growing interest in sports sections. In April 2026, users searched for such organizations on 2GIS maps 32.6% more often than a year earlier.
Demand grew more only in Nizhny Novgorod, where the figure increased by 41.1%. Krasnodar took third place with an increase of 30.8%. On average, in cities with a population of over a million, interest in sports sections increased by 13.6% over the year.
At the same time, the number of sports organizations themselves has increased. From May 2025 to May 2026, they increased by 3.5%. Now in the largest cities of Russia there are almost 22 thousand sports sections.

Krasnoyarsk also entered the top five cities with a high provision of residents with sports clubs. There are 8.6 such organizations per 10 thousand residents. According to this indicator, the city took third place among million people after Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk. In terms of the total number of sports sections, Moscow, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg are in the lead. Most of the new sections appeared in the year in Ufa, Chelyabinsk and Nizhny Novgorod.
Earlier, analysts also noted that sports sections and children's clubs are becoming an important part of city infrastructure for Russians. Many residents consider them to be more valuable close to home than some of the underlying retail properties.
