Akhmetov's Metinvest has already handed over 30 anti-mine trawls to the fighters
According to the data of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, as of the end of 2024, there were 138,500 square meters in Ukraine. m of territory that is potentially contaminated by mines. That is why the Metinvest company started developing trawls for the military, which help in demining and protect the lives of soldiers.
The Soviet development was taken as a basis, which was improved together with the military: now the trawl can be automatically dropped from the tank, and it can also be repaired in the field (Metinvest provides spare parts together with the trawls). The cost of one trawl is UAH 2.5 million, but the soldiers receive them for free. In total, the company has already transferred 30 trawls worth more than 75 million.
Metinvest gives fighters 5 trawls every month, as part of the military initiative “Steel Front of Rinat Akhmetov”.
Also, the company has already manufactured and handed over to the Defense Forces 651 steel bunkers-shelters that are buried underground, 246 screens to protect armored vehicles from FPV drones (for Abrams tanks, Leopard-2, T-72, APC BMP2, Bradley, Patriot air defense systems), 61 “lancet hunters” and other steel equipment.
