In Krasnoyarsk, the former head of the Center of the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Territory will appear in court. He is accused of illegally issuing licenses to operate small vessels. This was reported to the regional prosecutor's office.

According to investigators, in 2023 and 2024, the manager repeatedly gave illegal instructions to his subordinates to conduct certification of citizens in absentia. People did not come to have their knowledge and skills tested, but marks appeared in the documents indicating that they had allegedly passed the certification. After this, they were given certificates for the right to operate small vessels. In total, at least 9 people received documents this way.

The prosecutor's office noted that mandatory certification is needed to verify whether a person can safely operate a vessel. In this case, according to the investigation, the procedure was actually replaced by formal paperwork. The investigation believes that the former manager acted out of personal interest. He wanted to strengthen his authority and show that he could quickly resolve issues with registration of rights.

The regional prosecutor approved the charge under the article of abuse of power. The criminal case will be considered by the Central District Court of Krasnoyarsk.
