DION united 15,000 students from Russia and India at the GO-BRICS hackathon

The corporate communications platform DION (part of the T1 IT holding) has become a digital platform for conducting the online stage of the international hackathon GO-BRICS Synthesis.

The competition brought together young developers, researchers and engineers from Russia and India. More than 15,000 students and aspiring professionals participate in the event.

GO-BRICS Synthesis consists of several rounds. The best teams that have passed all of them are invited to participate in person in Russia. One of the final stages is also planned to be held in India during the BRICS summit.

The online format made it possible to gather distributed teams from two countries on one site and establish continuous interaction between participants, experts and organizers. At the same time, DION withstood intense load: during the hackathon, the platform was tested with connections from abroad and confirmed stable operation with a load of up to 10,000 users. The teams worked in a 72-hour marathon, and the service itself provided a single digital space for collaboration on IT solutions.

“For international projects of this scale, the technological environment is especially important, which allows participants to work as a single team, regardless of country, time zone and connection format. In the case of GO-BRICS Synthesis, DION became the basis for just such an interaction model: it supports the online work of distributed teams and at the same time easily integrates into a hybrid format, when some stages are completed remotely and others in person. For us, this is an indicative case of how communication technologies can become infrastructure for large international educational and engineering initiatives,” said Roman Cherednikov, director of the project portfolio of the DION corporate communications platform.
