CSM Constanța reacted to the temporary suspension of Camelia Voineacalling the decision of the Romanian Gymnastics Federation “a gross abuse”. The club from the city on the shores of the Black Sea claims that the FRG is close to burying Romanian gymnastics and that the members of the Executive Committee who made this decision must retire. Camelia Voinea also said that she wants to steal her work and “take away” Sabrina.
During this day, the Romanian Gymnastics Federation announced the temporary suspension of Camelia Voinea, following the conclusion of the preliminary analysis of the case in which the coach from CSM Constanța is accused of physical and mental abuse.
The FRG announced that “the issues reported require a judicious and specialized analysis” and notified the competent state authorities.
“We believe that such situations must be approached with responsibility and balance, without hasty public conclusions, but also without ignoring issues that may affect the safety and well-being of athletes. Beyond the analysis of possible individual responsibilities, it is important to have a serious reflection on the mechanisms and practices that, over time, can become vulnerabilities of the sports system”, the Federation sent.
Meanwhile, CSM Constanța issued a statement condemning FRG's decision, stating that it “may have catastrophic implications for Romanian gymnastics”. The club claims that the fate of Camelia Voinea was “cut in the offices of the FRG, without her being listened to” and called the Executive Committee's decision “an indelible stain and a shame”.

The suspension of Camelia Voinea is a gross abuse!
Constanța Municipal Sports Club took note of the Decision of the Executive Committee no. 26 of 15.05.2026 which ordered the suspension of our champion, Camelia Voinea, “from all actions organized by the FRG, until the investigation that will be carried out in the case by the competent authorities is resolved”.
The club strongly condemns this decision, which it considers an unprecedented abuse of law, taken with an irresponsibility that can have catastrophic implications for Romanian gymnastics in national and international competitions.
Under the guise of a “preventive temporary measure”, the FRG chose to violate the right to work and ignore any right to defense. Although the hypocritical “presumption of innocence” was invoked, in reality, Ms. Camelia Voinea is suspended from activity, without a decision issued by a Disciplinary Commission. This although, for almost half a year, it is invested, the pinnacle, also by the same Cex.
It is extremely serious that the fate of this Romanian gymnastics champion was decided in the FRG offices, without her being heard and without a disciplinary procedure being completed

After the regrettable situation of the gymnast Ana-Maria Bărbosu, the FRG management is very close to burying Romanian gymnastics, as the suspension of Camelia Voinea is synonymous with jeopardizing the performance of Sabrina Voinea. The Camelia-Sabrina relationship is well-known at all levels so that any measure taken against the coach and her mother condemns Romania's elite athlete.
Moreover, the FRG's irresponsible decision falls directly on the other students/athletes trained by Mrs. Camelia Voinea, among whom we mention Melisa Orazacai, who recently returned to sports. If someone wanted at all costs the elimination of Camelia Voinea from Romanian gymnastics, that someone is very likely to obtain the elimination of his students from the competitions.
The decision of the FRG Executive Committee is a shame for its members and an indelible stain on Romanian gymnastics. The Cex members who voted for this abuse should take responsibility and step down as it becomes clear that their purpose is no longer to defend and support gymnastics and its values.
