The Ministry of Health's report on the hantavirus outbreak in Russia was called a fake

13 May 13:20

Media editorial offices in Russia received a fake newsletter with information about the first cases of hantavirus. Thus, outbreaks of the disease are allegedly reported in the Sverdlovsk region and Tatarstan.

According to the Ural Meridian news agency, the authors of the letter, on behalf of the region’s Deputy Minister of Health Elena Malyavina, ask journalists to publish information about preventive measures with a mandatory link to the source. Attached to the letter is an “official” document.

Law enforcement officers once again urge not to send false information in instant messengers and social networks, trusting only trusted sources.
