Memphis Grizzlies basketball player Brandon Clarke has died at the age of 29. The cause of the tragedy is still unknown.

Canadian by origin, but also having American citizenship, Brandon Clarke was drafted in the NBA in 2019, with the 21st option. He did not get to debut for the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Memphis Grizzlies acquired him and he never left the franchise.

In his freshman year, he was named to the All-Rookie Team. There were 5 successful seasons, with averages of over 10 points/game.

In the current season, Brandon has been hit from all sides. He played only two matches, being later hampered by an injury.

At the beginning of April this year, he ended up in front of the authoritiescharged with possession and distribution of prohibited substances, dangerous driving and attempted eluding.

Today, from Memphis came news that shook the world of basketball. Through an official statement, the Grizzlies announced the death of the athlete.

“We are devastated by the tragic loss of Brandon Clarke. Brandon was a great teammate and an even better person, and his impact on the organization and the entire Memphis community will not be forgotten. We send our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time,” the NBA said in a statement.

The news was a real shock in the United States of America. The cause of death is still unknown. No major publication came forward with a script.
