No foreigners will want our lithium with such tariffs from Ukrzaliznytsia – an expert
Now everyone is actively discussing the statements of the Americans and Europeans about the involvement of foreign companies in the extraction of Ukrainian rare earth resources. But no investor will come to work in a country where the state monopolist constantly raises tariffs for cargo transportation, says the executive director of the National Association of Extractive Industry of Ukraine (NADPU) Ksenia Orynchak.
She reminded that UZ is now initiating a 37% increase in cargo tariffs. But the cost of transportation is exactly the indicator that all companies without exception pay attention to.
“Now there are statements from Trump, from Scholz regarding the mining industry. Well, I am very interested to hear what tariffs Ukrzaliznytsia will offer to foreign investors. Because they will add up the numbers and see how profitable it is to develop deposits in Ukraine and generally work in our mining sector,” Orynchak noted.
