Metallica, in Bucharest: How much the tickets ended up costing on the resale sites

Tickets for the concert that the legendary rock band Metallica will perform on Wednesday night at the National Arena have sold for over 2,000 euros on resale sites. The cheapest seats cost 200 euros, and the most expensive reach 2,700 euros, several times more than they originally cost.

When tickets for the Metlallica concert went on sale a year ago, they sold out within hours after more than 100,000 fans formed a virtual queue. The tickets cost, on the official iabilet.ro platform, between 335 lei and 1,847 lei, depending on the position of the seats in the stadium and the optional packages offered.

On Tuesday, the day before the concert, fans can still find tickets on reselling sites, but at several times higher prices.

According to the data displayed by the SeatPick.com platform, which centralizes offers from resale sites such as Viagogo or Gigsberg, on Tuesday afternoon there were still 88 tickets available for the Metallica concert in Bucharest. The cheapest ones cost 200 euros, and at this price there were only two seats available. The most expensive ticket reached 2,700 euros, in the stands, according to the data analyzed by HotNews.

What are the risks if we purchase tickets from unofficial sites

But, according to zileșinopti.ro, the problem is that unofficial resale platforms, such as Viagogo or Gigsberg, do not have a real system for checking loaded tickets. The same file containing the code can be sold several times, and only the first person who validates the ticket at the entrance will have access to the event. The organizers specified that access will not be allowed with tickets purchased from sources other than the official ones.

The only option to buy a safe ticket is the official resale platform, dabilet.ro, where the tickets are verified and the transaction is regulated. As of Tuesday afternoon, however, there were no tickets available on this platform.

Metallica brings a spectacular production to the National Arena

The band Metallica returns to the National Arena in Bucharest, Wednesday, May 13, for a show that is part of the M72 World Tour.

M72's record-breaking world tour will continue for a fourth consecutive year with 16 concerts across mainland Europe and the UK in May, June and July 2026.

Metallica brings a spectacular production to Bucharest, with a circular stage located in the center of the field at the National Arena, the organizers say, according to News.ro. The bands that will open the concert in the Capital are Gojira and Knocked Loose.

Since the debut of the M72 World Tour, in April 2023, in Amsterdam, Metallica has brought the show in front of approximately four million fans and has been appreciated by the international press as “an experience that gives new meaning to life” (Billboard), “undoubtedly epic” (Metal Hammer), “a performance that leaves you speechless” (Detroit News), “triumphant” (Kerrang!) and “the most powerful and intense version of Metallica in years” (Los Angeles Times).

The concert program Metallica from Bucharest. Access rules

Access to the Metallica concert on May 13, 2026 will be at around 16:00 for holders of all ticket categories, except for holders of Enhanced Experiences packages, who will receive more details in a separate email.

Knocked Loose will take the stage around 18:00, Gojira will follow them around 19:00, and the Metallica concert will start around 20:30.

The program is indicative, “it can undergo changes independent of the organizer's will” and does not represent a reason for refunding the ticket price, the organizers said.

They recommend the public to arrive at the National Arena in time, to avoid queues at the access gates. Spectators who decide to come early to the stadium will have the opportunity to spend their time in the Maior Ion Coravu area, which will be available to the public starting at 12:00, until the end of the event, set up as a waiting area, with all facilities, bars, food trucks, ecological toilets, merchandise stands and others. Access to the Major Ion Coravu waiting area does not imply access to the event before the gates open, say the organizers.

Holders of Enhanced Experiences tickets in the categories “Nothing Else Matters” Snake Pit Experience, “Moth Into Flame” Snake Pit Experience, “One” Enhanced Experience, Snake Pit Package, “Seek & Destroy” ReservedPackage and “Frantic” Early Entry Ga package are asked to consult the information regarding the personalized program corresponding to the package held, received on the email addresses used when purchasing the tickets. Failure to comply with the schedule may result in the loss of package benefits and no refunds will be accepted.

As a result of the very large number of spectators expected to reach the stadium, the organizers recommend using public transport to avoid traffic jams. The stadium parking lot will be closed, so no parking spaces will be provided.

Metallica last performed in Romania on August 14, 2019, but the band also came to Bucharest in 1999, 2008 and 2010. In 2019, 250,000 euros were donated from ticket sales for the Hospital built by the “Give Life” Association.
