Hermannstadt only got a draw on the field of relegated Metaloglobus, 2-2, at the end of a match in which Dorinel Munteanu's students got back on the table twice, narrowly avoiding a resounding failure.

Hermannstadt, League 2 performance

In dire need of victory in the easiest match, at least on paper, of this play-out, Hermannstadt started very timidly against the relegated Metaloglobus, leaving the ball more to the host, who created the most dangerous opportunities of the first part.

Dorinel Munteanu's team was close to opening the scoring in the 19th minute, following a corner kick executed by Eduard Florescu, at the end of which Ionuț Stoica sent a dangerous shot towards the goal from inside the small box, but Gavrilaș managed to intervene in time.

In the end, the scoreboard was unlocked in the 27th minute, but in favor of the hosts. Damia Sabater released Moses Abbey and the Ghana midfielder sprinted towards goal, beating David Lazar with a shot into the short corner.

The advantage of the formation coached by Florin Bratu lasted only 3 minutes. Eduard Florescu released Marko Gjorgjievski in the box, and the Macedonian managed to overcome an opponent and send the ball in front of the goal, from where Cristi Neguț, luckily, restored the tie.

The Sibians escaped as if through the eye of a needle in the 3rd minute of extra time of the first half, when Florin Purece had a monumental opportunity to restore the advantage of Metaloglobus on the table, but Lazar managed a formidable intervention.

Dorinel Munteanu's students came out of the booths more prepared, and Cristi Neguț had the chance to succeed in the “double” in the 50th minute. Sergiu Buș passed the ball to Aurelian Chițu in front of the box, and the striker engaged Neguț, who tried to surprise Nedelcovici, the goalkeeper sent by Florin Bratu in the second half, but the shot of the Hermannstadt decar passed through the gate.

The momentum of the guests lasted only a few minutes, to the displeasure of Dorinel Munteanu, visibly agitated on the technical bench.

In the 71st minute, Metaloglobus counter-attacked through Abbey, who broke into the box and tried to pass the ball to Zakir, but the batsman, hesitant in execution, failed to get back to the goal, but the ball reached Sabater, who beat Lazar with a shot to the short corner.

The “Neamtulu” students resumed their attacks towards the hosts' goal, and Silviu Balaure managed to send the ball into the net in the 80th minute, but the goal was canceled for an obvious offside.

The Sibiu managed to restore the tie in the 84th minute. Cristi Neguț sent a shot placed from outside the box, the ball hit the left post of the goal, but then ricocheted behind the goalkeeper Nedelcovici, from where it ended up in the goal.

Hermannstadt could strike in extra time following a corner kick. The ball reached Neguț in the box, and Chorbadzhiyski's cross found Chorbadzhiyski in front of the goal, but the Bulgarian defender's header went well over the goal.

On the counterattack, Metaloglobus had a chance to win, but Florin Purece's shot was rejected in the corner, and the match ended with a score of 2-2.
