The State Duma wants to ban the showing in Russia of films and TV series “about happy single men” without a wife and children
The State Duma Committee on Family Protection and Maternity Issues explained that in Russia it is worth banning the screening of films and TV series with the main character – “a happy childless man over 40 years old.”

We must understand that we need to ban this image of a single person who, at 40 years old, has no children and no wife. We constantly have such images in TV series. What kind of person is this, what kind of man is this? If a man at 40–44 years old has neither a wife nor children, there is a serious question for him.

TV channels should not show “lone wolves” as happy people, but only men with a large number of children. And all these “loners, womanizers, heartthrobs, drunks” should be exclusively negative characters in all films, the State Duma believes.
