The Bolojan government will remain interim at least until June, a minister believes

The interim period could be longer than thought, it could last at least until June or even longer, the interim Minister of Investments and European Projects, Dragoş Pîslaru, said on Saturday, reports Agerpres.
“We will have a longer interim period than expected (…) It may last at least until June and even longer than this period when the parties are trying to find a solution and then it is very important for the country to move forward, to carry on the things we need, especially, as far as I'm concerned, obtaining the European money we need so much”, said Dragoş Pîslaru.
He emphasized, at the same time, that Ilie Bolojan won public support, including from some citizens who no longer followed politics or were disappointed by the political class.
“What I can tell you is that I participated in the meeting where the PNL resolution to go into opposition was adopted; it was voted with 50 votes out of 54. It seemed to me that there was nothing clearer than that; even the voices that were against during the discussion had nothing to say at the end. What I believe is that there is unity in the National Liberal Party, behind Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan. We will also see polls public, I understand that there are a lot of polls circulating on sources, but I think we will see very clearly that Ilie Bolojan may have lost a government, but won an entire country”, said Dragoş Pîslaru, when asked if the PNL will split in two.
Bolojan's stubbornness
In his opinion, PSD tried to remove Ilie Bolojan from the leadership of the Government and the PNL because some important reforms started to be made in society.
“It was, obviously, an attempt to decapitate the president of the PNL, because some important reforms began to be made in society, together with other colleagues in the Government, and I think it is obvious the reason why the PSD triggered this crisis. It has nothing to do with the personality of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, it has to do, if you like, with the stubbornness of his rule to make some important reforms and to turn on the light”, declared Dragoş Pîslaru.
He believes that a minority government will be a complicated solution, due to the fact that it is difficult to implement a reform agenda by a minority government. Asked if he will join the PNL, Pîslaru answered:
“I saw many discussions on this topic – and I was surprised – including in the halls, if I sign up, I don't sign up, when I sign up; I will certainly communicate to you at the appropriate time. What I stated is that I support Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, because I believe that what is happening now is a popular wave of support for the reform agenda that has been postponed for a long time. I think that at this moment it is very important that there is a coagulation, no necessarily doctrinal, as much as to bring light to Romania.”
