In Krasnoyarsk, exercises were held in case of the outbreak of plague

In the hospital of the Krasnoyarsk Emergency Hospital, training exercises were held to develop an algorithm of actions upon admission of a patient with a particularly dangerous infection.
According to legend, an ambulance crew delivered a man who had flown in from Mongolia with a suspected bubonic form of plague. The staff was faced with the task of accepting the patient in compliance with all epidemiological standards, conducting an examination and providing qualified assistance.
Employees of Infectious Diseases Department No. 1 promptly deployed a specialized box, isolated the patient, conducted an examination, took biomaterial for laboratory verification and began treatment measures.
“In addition, a mechanism for notifying all authorities about the admission of such a patient was worked out,” the Ministry of Health said. — The exercises were held with the participation of specialists from the regional Rospotrebnadzor, who highly appreciated the readiness of the hospital team, noting the accuracy of all procedures and the coherence of the staff. The event confirmed that the institution is able to quickly respond to identifying cases of particularly dangerous diseases and provide patients with the necessary assistance.”
