In Krasnoyarsk, a local resident will appear in court, accused of murdering his father, committed 22 years ago.

According to the regional prosecutor's office, in April 2004, a 55-year-old Krasnoyarsk resident was taken to the hospital unconscious and with multiple injuries. The doctors were unable to save him.

Then the son of the deceased said that his father left home at night, returned beaten, went to bed, and did not wake up in the morning. For a long time this version remained the main one. They returned to the case years later while working to solve crimes of past years. The check showed that there were inconsistencies in the original version.

“Taking into account modern forensic data and expert consultation, it became clear that with such injuries the man could not return home and go to bed on his own. After additional work by the prosecutor's office, operational units and investigation, the son of the deceased admitted that during the conflict he punched his father in the head several times. After that, he continued to drink alcohol, deciding that his father was just sleeping,” the prosecutor’s office said.

The prosecutor confirmed the charge under the article of intentionally causing grievous bodily harm resulting in the death of a person. The case will be considered by the Sovetsky District Court of Krasnoyarsk.
