“We have all the options unlike others.” Sorin Grindeanu, about the next steps PSD will take

PSD is open to all forms in which it can continue collaborating with the parties from the former coalition in the consultations that will take place after the dismissal of the Bolojan government in Parliament, Sorin Grindeanu announced on Wednesday. In a show on Euronews, he resumed his attacks on the prime minister whom he accused of carrying out mass redundancies instead of reforms.
The Bolojan government was dismissed on Tuesday with 281 votes in Parliament, and PNL and USR announced that they no longer form a coalition with PSD. Asked at Euronews what's next, Sorin Grindeanu said that PSD is open to any scenario.
“PSD, at this moment, is open and has all options in front of it. There can be majorities without PSD or PSD can be part of the governing coalition, a coalition of pro-Western parties,” Sorin Grindeanu said.
What about a future coalition with USR
He emphasized that if in the PSD internal referendum the members had been asked if they wanted USR to remain in the coalition, a more categorical vote would probably have been recorded than the one for withdrawing the political support given to the prime minister. However, he did not rule out a governing coalition in which the USR would continue to be a part.
“Probably if we had asked the second question at the internal consultation related to the USR, I would bet that the percentage could be higher than 97.7%. The political developments are what we see. Our mandate is not to limit the options. We need to quickly find a solution,” said the PSD leader.
Grindeanu: “The world does not revolve around one man”
The PSD president resumed his attacks on Prime Minister Bolojan, whom they dismissed through the motion voted together with AUR and the other opposition MPs.
“The world does not revolve around one man. Bolojan came up with an economic model that proved its bankruptcy. 80% of Romanians say that the direction in which Romania is going is wrong”, said Grindeanu.
“He did not make reforms but collective dismissals in the administration,” he continued. “We are talking about a policy of bankruptcy and the direction had to be changed,” the PSD president also said.
Who will be prime minister?
He said that it is not the PSD's responsibility to propose names of prime ministers from among the PNL, but they will only give an opinion if the chosen one is okay.
“We have all the options unlike others. From having a prime minister given by the PSD, to going to the opposition. We have all the options as options. We will make a decision when a scenario crystallizes. We don't say no from the start,” he continued.
Previously, in a statement to the Parliament, Manda spoke of two options: resuming the coalition without Bolojan or going into opposition with the PSD. Also, the general secretary of the PSD said that either the PNL appoints a prime minister for the remaining one year until the rotation, or the PSD proposes Sorin Grindeanu for the head of the Government.
