May 6 in Krasnoyarsk officially endedcitywide heating season. The mayor made the decision based on the weather forecast.
According to weather forecasters, in the last week the average daily air temperature exceeded +13 °Cat standard values +8 °C.
“Starting today, management organizations are closing the valves in houses to stop the heating supply. Technically, the city heating system from thermal power plants now works in such a way that the networks are in circulation all year round. Therefore, the ability not to turn off the heating remains in almost all homes and institutions. If management organizations for some reason do not close the valves, heating will be paid in accordance with the readings of common house meters,” the administration said.
They also noted that this year the heating season ended almost a week earlier than last, and became the shortest in recent years – only 225 days.
Let us remind you that as soon as the heating is turned off, preparations for the new heating season begin – hydraulic tests begin, which are necessary in order to identify weak points in the pipes and carry out repairs on them.
“I set the task to work out the shortcomings that were identified during the period of severe frosts,” said the head of Krasnoyarsk Sergei Vereshchagin. — Let me remind you that more than 350 Krasnoyarsk residents complained about the cold in their apartments last winter. Each application was processed, and work was planned for the summer period to correct the causes of poor-quality heating.”

In addition to current repairs, the city is carrying out a large amount of work on the construction of new sections of heating networks, as well as reconstruction and major repairs of existing heating system communications. This year it is planned to replace 55 km of pipelines in 90 sections of the city. According to power engineers, thanks to systematic work, the wear and tear of the Krasnoyarsk heat supply system decreased from 70% to 38%. Also, the renewal and development of infrastructure made it possible to close 37 inefficient boiler houses, reducing emissions into the atmosphere.
